From Townsville Dragway's humble beginnings back in 1977 Ray & Jean Mobbs have quickly developed their current site to one of North Queensland's premiere events with a calendar designed to attract the 'pick of the crop' competitors.

With Ray's drag racing history, dating back to 1968, to his retirement from competitive racing in 1991, Ray has provided a valuable contribution to the industry for the drag racing public of the north.

Ray & Jean, both active in the creation of public interest towards the sport, have completely developed the heritage listed World War II US airstrip into the high quality track it is today.
