The Winter Classic to be held on 19 th June in 2010 is a $3000 prize bracket for all sedans and modified vehicles.

This featured bracket is open to dragsters, T-buckets, super sedans and streeters. All competitors are in with an even chance of taking the big bucks.

Trevor Mobbs Memorial - 17 th July 2010

The Wild Bunch was first seen at the Townsville Dragway in July 1989 just 4 days after the death of Trevor Mobbs who dedicated his life to the sport and was the force that got drag racing happening in North Queensland . The Wild Bunch has been the most popular bracket with the northern fans in the history of drag racing in North Queensland . Tyre smoking, half track burnouts and that ground shaking action had continued to build the Wild Bunch tradition.

Annual All Bike Drag Meeting 31 st July 2010

This is the one event held each year that is dedicated to the bike riding enthusiast. The longest running bike event in Australia , there will be brackets for all types of bikes from dedicated race bikes to trail bikes. The Bike Meeting is a day not to be missed with plenty of fast action and a great social atmosphere for everybody – competitors and spectators alike.

King of the Hill – 6th November 2010

This is another event with a long history. Always held early November KOTH is the one event with big money for a Street Bracket - $1000 cash for the win. The best of the streeters from all areas of north Queensland are to be seen at this one, from Rocky to the far North and west to Mt Isa. It is a full race program with other brackets for all types of vehicles. The event is the last of the major events of each year but is also the first of the points round for the following years Racer of the Year Series. Double points give racers a good start to the new season.

STREET MEETS

Street Legal Meets are held almost every other Saturday night during the year. If you have ever wanted to put the “pedal to the metal” just to see what your car – and you – can do … then these Street Meets provide ample opportunities.

The cost is just $28 to race, paid at the gate on the day and for that you can have as many runs as you like. There is a time card given for each pass you do and you can run to improve your personal best time or beat the one in the other Lane. You can even challenge a mate. Gates open at 7pm racing 7.30pm. Passengers or Spectators pay $10. These are a No Alcohol event

To get you racing you need to have an approved crash helmet and clothing covering limbs as well as enclosed footwear. The driver must provide proof that a driving license has been held. Learners Permit is not sufficient. You are allowed a passenger who must also meet the same requirements. Whenever you have a passenger on board you are only permitted solo runs. That is – nobody in the other lane. There must always be a maximum of two persons in any race whether they are in the same car or separate vehicles.

Your vehicle must pass an observation checklist through Scrutineering. This includes tread on the tyres, intact windscreen, radiator overflow bottle, and very important – working tail lights so we can see when you turn off the track. Remember you are almost a kilometre from the startline. Tail-shaft loops are highly recommended.

Group Concessions : If you belong to a social or sporting Club then Street Meets may provide a novel outing for your group. A Group Booking for 20 or more racers gives a generous discount. These bookings must be arranged and paid for by the Wednesday before the Event. Give us a call for more information.
